We are delighted to share that Bright Scholar (UK) Holdings, the overseas division of Bright Scholar Education Holdings Limited, the largest operator of international and bilingual schools in China, has today rebranded as CATS Global Schools.
Today, we are relaunching with a new vision, mission and set of values to inspire the next generation of world shapers and to create a global community of schools that goes further than others in the pursuit of future-thinking academic excellence.
CATS Global Schools brings together NYSE-listed Bright Scholar’s recent overseas acquisitions including CATS Colleges, comprising an Arts School, international schools, English language centres and a junior summer programmes operation. CATS Colleges was purchased from Bridgepoint and Cambridge Education Group in 2019 for £150m, St Michael’s School and Bosworth Independent College, which were also purchased in 2019 and Bournemouth Collegiate School in 2018.
The UK headquartered group now comprises independent and international boarding schools, an Arts School, English language schools and a variety of summer programmes at 16 locations in the UK, US, Canada and China.
The rebrand to CATS Global Schools unites our global community and signals a desire to bring greater focus on equipping students with the relevant skills, mindset, and confidence, to take on the challenges they will face in the future.
CATS Global Schools provides 18,000 students from over 100 nationalities with the education they need to develop real-life skills to prepare for tomorrow’s world and demonstrates a proven track record of academic success. In 2020, 90% of students across the group achieved A*-C at A level and 66% of current graduating students in the UK hold offers to a Russell Group university, including Oxbridge. In the US, 250 students at CATS Academy have received one or more acceptance to a top 100* US university.
Chris Stacey, CEO of CATS Global Schools comments:
“Coming together as a network of schools, colleges, an arts school and English language centres has given us an opportunity to reflect on who we are and what educational impact we can make collectively as a global group.
“As part of the rebrand, we have developed a fresh identity and our new group name, CATS Global Schools, provides a link to our history and heritage. However, today CATS Global Schools reflects a larger group with more schools offering a wider variety of programmes committed to future-shaping education.
“Each of our schools retains their character and identity, and our people, our greatest advocates, will help position our community as an inspirational force-for-good driving educational excellence and equipping students with the skills they need to thrive in tomorrow’s world.”
Jerry He, Executive Vice Chairman of Bright Scholar Holdings comments:
“The schools that make up CATS Global Schools combine their heritage with a forward-thinking mindset to help students realise their full potential. Now, as a strong integrated group, CATS Global Schools offers students the opportunity to study at different campuses to gain a global perspective. Students benefit from learning with different cultures, as it prepares them for a more globalised society and economy.”
