For the first time since the pandemic began, A level pupils formally sat their end-of-year exams.
This year’s grades take into account the disruption students faced during the pandemic. Last year, Ofqual, the exams regulator, said: “Our grading approach will recognise the disruption experienced by students taking exams in 2022.”
Despite the disruption, 194 CGS A level students are celebrating outstanding results. The results are even better than teacher-assessed grades awarded during the pandemic, with 90% of students achieving at least one A*, A, or B, up 2% from last year.
